Jennifer Lopez to ditch ‘American Idol’?

Posted in : Gossips

(added 3 hours ago)

Jennifer Lopez to ditch ‘American Idol’?Jennifer Lopez, 42, shocked fans this week when she said she wasn’t sure she would stay on at American Idol. To some, it felt like a betrayal of all they held good, sacred, and true.

Alas, E! News’ Mark Malkin says J-Lo already has decided to ditch the show. “She’s just too busy,” Anonymous Source says, noting that the singer is due to go on a months-long world tour with Enrique Iglesias.

J-Lo has yet to confirm or deny the report.

She does tell E! she feels conflicted.

“It is just like any working mom’s dilemma,” says Her Lo-Ness. “It’s tough. It’s a balancing act. You put [your kids] first and then you have all these other things that you have to do ... and you have to make sure that they’re OK in the process.”

While Fox won’t comment, Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe says he wants J-Lo back.

Quote du jour: Tyra on modeling

“If I was just starting to model at age 17 in 2012,” says Tyra Banks in an open letter to models, “I could not have had the career that I did. I would’ve been considered too heavy.”

Tidbits ’n’ pieces

Prince Harry has revealed a painful fact about his personal life: His gran, Queen Elizabeth II, has not “friended” him on Facebook, the royal lad tells Katie Couric. ... Louisiana coroner John Fraiche says preliminary results from an autopsy suggest Mitchell Guist died of natural causes. Guist, 47, a popular star on the History Channel’s Swamp People, died Monday of an apparent heart attack.

Kourtney kicks Disick to the curb?

Life & Style Weekly claims Kourtney Kardashian, who is expecting her second baby with Scott Disick, has chucked him out of their L.A. home — at least until she’s due. Seems Scott is partying and carrying on — and apparently holding on to a secret cache of sex tapes! He missed KK’s baby shower and spends most of his time across the continent, running his New York eatery, Ryu. Oh, my.

Kevin Costner on Whitney, on prayer

Whitney Houston’s The Bodyguard costar Kevin Costner says he and the late diva had a lot to talk about when it came to their childhoods. They were both raised in strict Baptist homes, he said at Houston’s funeral. He spoke “about what was real between Whitney and me,” Costner tells Parade, “being in church when we were little, both getting in trouble, about our not wanting to be preachers.”

Costner, 57, says he still prays. “Yes, because I realize I have been very lucky,” he says. “I feel that there has been a hand over my life. I haven’t lived a perfect life. I have regrets.” The father of seven says that most of all he prays he lives long enough to see his children grow up.

$4 mil worth of Taylor Swift’s love

Taylor Swift, 22, doesn’t skimp when it comes to Giving Back. The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum said Thursday it had received a $4 mil donation from the “Teardrops on My Guitar” singer. E! News says the cash will be used to erect the Taylor Swift Education Center, with exhibition space and classroom facilities.

Chesney: 300 push-ups in 10 mins!

Swift’s fellow country star Kenny Chesney, 44, says he needs to keep fit if he wants to survive the two-hour shows he’ll be performing on his summer tour. (He’ll hit Philly’s Lincoln Financial Field on June 16.)

“You think you’re sprinting on this treadmill,” he tells Men’s Health, gesturing to the exercise machine. “When I’m up there it’s like I’m at a constant sprint at a 15 level. But the thing you have onstage that you don’t have in the gym is adrenaline.”

K.C., who says he can do 300 push-ups in 10 minutes, treats his body like a temple — or at least a well-oiled Hummer. “I’ve never abused my body with drugs. I’ve never smoked,” he says. But he won’t say no to the occasional beer. “You can’t spend 19 years on the road and not have a few drinks.”

Brand-Perry: Love isn’t enough

“I still love her as a human being.” Thus British comic Russell Brand damns Katy Perry with faint praise in a chat with daytime gab show host Ellen DeGeneres. Brand vowed he’d be hers forever in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in October 2010, then filed for divorce after 14 months. Love, he says, ain’t enough. “Sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything. I was very happy to be married with her. She’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her.”

Matthew, Channing, bare it all

Matthew McConaughey tells the Advocate he didn’t use a derriere double for his striptease scenes in the male-stripper pic Magic Mike. It took time for him to feel comfortable taking it all off. “At first it was scary as [heck],” he says, “but then it became like a drug and I couldn’t wait to do it again.”

Costar Channing Tatum, a stripper turned actor whose story is told in the Steven Soderbergh dramedy, admits the film is, like, wall-to-wall male nudity, but insists, “We didn’t make it specifically for the gay community or the chick community.” He challenges straight dudes to see it. “This is supposed to be hilarious. And if guys don’t get that, they’re just insecure.”

Jennifer Lopez proves that at the age of 42, she still has the body other women envy her for. The "American Idol" judge shows off her toned abs and sexy curves as she models summer's sexiest bikinis and cut-out swimwear for the June issue of Vogue magazine, which will be on newsstands across the United States May 22.

In one of the sizzling images, she is featured stretching on a diving board as she soaks up the sun in a black criss cross Herve Leger monokini that barely covers her famous behind.

In the previous April issue, Lopez has talked about coping with the changes in her body as she grew older. "I'm just a regular woman," said Marc Anthony's estranged wife, who has just been named the most powerful in Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list. "I wear a size six. When I eat too much over the holidays, I wear an eight. It's more about being healthy and feeling good about yourself."

Jennifer Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro are 'Expecting' great things

Posted in : Gossips

(added 2 days ago)

BEVERLY HILLS – Just over four years ago, it was one of the most famous women in the world's turn to reach for one of America's most popular books. As Jennifer Lopez, who was pregnant with twins Emme and Max, toured with then-husband Marc Anthony, she'd sing by night and flip the pages of What to Expect When You're Expecting by day. On Friday, the silver-screen version of the book, depicting five very different pregnancies, arrives in theaters.

Jennifer Lopez, Rodrigo Santoro are 'Expecting' great things

What to Expect "was a bible for me while I was pregnant," says Lopez, today a sleek figure in a white sheath and spike-toed Louboutins at the Four Seasons as she settles into a booth next to her on-screen husband, Rodrigo Santoro.

But reading that weighty book, Lopez was like most other first-time moms, turning its pages "honestly every day, every month. I would get mad when I was on the month for too long. When it took too long and it's almost like you're waiting for the next issue to come out — ooh, what's going to happen later?"
Next to her, Santoro, who is half Brazilian, half Italian and a superstar in Brazil, says the book is ubiquitous, even for men.

"My sister had it," says Santoro, who is best known in the USA for his turns in Love Actually, 300 and Lost. "After that, I took a look at the book. I was curious. I don't have kids yet, so I haven't needed it.""You will," Lopez says knowingly.

Lopez, 42, and Santoro, 36, play Holly and Alex, a couple who try to conceive later in life and, after experiencing trouble, decide to adopt a child from Ethiopia. Myriad celebs join in What to Expect with their own bump tales: Cameron Diaz and Matthew Morrison play hotheaded reality-show personalities Jules and Evan, whose tabloid-y relationship takes an unexpected turn. Elizabeth Banks picks up the obsessive mom-to-be baton as Wendy, who owns a shop dedicated to nursing. Brooklyn Decker plays Skyler, the infuriatingly bloat-free trophy wife (of Dennis Quaid) who paints peace symbols on her picture-perfect bump, while Anna Kendrick and Chace Crawford round out the cast as Rosie and Marco, two dueling food-truck chefs whose one-night affair turns into an unplanned start to parenthood.

Picking a husband for Lopez proved to be more difficult than director Kirk Jones had imagined.
"I think people feel like they know Jennifer when they go to a movie, because they're aware of her public persona and she's had a lot of success with her music career and her acting career," Jones says. "When you sit down to then find a partner for her, for some reason it becomes more challenging."
Luckily, this photogenic pair had instant chemistry.

"I don't know what it is, but there's obviously a warmth and a generosity of emotion I think they both share, and when they came together in rehearsals, it was just incredibly natural," Jones says. During the steamy Atlanta shoot, Lopez says, she identified closely with Holly, whose fear was rooted in missing out. "I identified very much with the fact that she wanted a baby so badly, because I wanted a baby so badly at one point in my life, and I really thought I couldn't have it, and I know that pain where you really feel like it's not going to happen for you, ever."

As for Alex, "he's fine," interjects Santoro, whose character balks at the reality of their baby's speedy adoption. Alex finds a safe place with the "Dudes Group," an informal support group of wisecracking fathers (led by Chris Rock) who meet weekly in a park to decompress about life after baby.

Back on the musical radar
In the film, no one's pregnancy goes according to plan. Diaz's athletic, type A character ends up spitting fire on bed rest; Banks falls victim to the most uncomfortable of side effects; and Kendrick struggles to make her new relationship work. Throughout, Decker simply, maddeningly glows. "My experience was more like Brooklyn, which everybody is going to hate to hear," Lopez says. "I wouldn't say I was glowing the whole time, but I was happy the whole time. Of course you have your difficult moments, but I didn't have all of the symptoms that a lot of people have. Like her, I was very athletic, I felt great, was on tour until I was 6½ months in. I didn't really get super-big until the last month." Overall, Lopez says, she gained 50 pounds.

"And I realized, because I got pregnant not in my 20s but in my late 30s, it was something that I was aware of, how beautiful it was, and I was aware of how my body was changing, and I was aware of how lucky I was and how much of a miracle it is. I was savoring every moment and saying that if this never happens to me again, I want this to be a really beautiful moment in my life — and it was."What to Expect arrives on the heels of a remarkably successful year for Lopez, whose own path back into the apex of pop culture took a pregnant pause two years ago with the release of her critically panned insemination flick The Back-Up Plan and the delayed release of her last album, Love?

Then, along came American Idol. "That's been one of my best experiences in my career, working on Idol," says Lopez, who gently (and stylishly) mothers the contestants on the show.

In response, her fans have come flooding back. Post-Idol, Lopez's songs are "doing great," says Sean Ross of radio industry website Radio-Info.com and weekly newsletter Ross on Radio, noting the fast start that her latest single, Dance Again, had on the charts. "She's back on radio's radar."

Santoro's schedule is similarly packed. His HBO film Hemingway & Gelhorn premieres May 28, and later this year, Heleno, a biopic on one of Brazil's most famous soccer players, which Santoro produced and stars in, will be released, followed by The Last Stand with Arnold Schwarzenegger, due early next year. Still single, Santoro says he's trying to figure out balance, traveling among Rio de Janeiro, L.A., New York, London and Spain. "He has an exotic life. I live in Calabasas," Lopez says with a laugh.

A sequel and a tour on tap
In reality, both stars are used to being watched. In Rio, Santoro is routinely snapped by paparazzi while he is surfing off the coast. Lopez says she has mostly mastered staying away from their lenses.
"The one place we kind of get caught is (the beach), because I love the ocean. I love the water, and sometimes I just have to go, and I'll take (the kids)."

Next, Santoro dives back into the role of Xerxes for the sequel 300: Battle of Artemisia. Physically, "it's exhausting. It's a lot of work," he says. "But it was worth it the first time, and I will make it worth it the second time.""I feel like he's talking about my tour right now," says Lopez, who goes on a world trek with Enrique Iglesias this summer. "I'm really excited about the prospect of taking the family on the road and going and singing my songs and dancing my dances."

She will take the twins, along with beau Casper Smart, 25, who will choreograph. "It's all kind of romantic in my mind, but I know after a month I'll be like, 'Mommy can't move!' "Her relationship with Smart, displayed recently during her performance of Dance Again on Idol, seems to suit Lopez, who says that despite "still getting her footing" and "adjusting to all the changes that have happened" in her new life, she's in a good place. On her precious days off, "I like to stay in bed all day" watching Disney movies with the twins (Hercules is a favorite).

"Emme's very much like me," she says, and she can sing. "She's very girly, she likes pretty things. She's very happy all the time. My son is kind of — there's a lot going on in his mind, I feel like. He's very, very smart. I feel like he's like his dad like that. His brain really functions on a level that is like a computer a little bit. He has kind of a photographic memory."

Jennifer Lopez In Alberto Makali – ‘American Idol’ Top 4 To 3 Live Elimination Show

Posted in : Gossips

(added 3 days ago)

Jennifer Lopez joined her fellow judges for the ‘American Idol’ top 4 to 3 live elimination show. She wore an Alberto Makali ivory beaded high-neck trapeze dress. I don’t think this cutesy beaded dress works for JLo. She seems too mature for this dress which would be perfect for someone like Selena Gomez or Ariel Winter.

Jennifer Lopez In Alberto Makali – ‘American Idol’ Top 4 To 3 Live Elimination Show

JLo styled her dress with drop earrings, silver rings and the same black suede Gianmarco Lorenz pumps she wore the night before. Voluminous wavy locks completed the look. I disliked both looks immensely from JLo last week.

My pregnancy was beautiful: Jennifer Lopez

Posted in : Gossips

(added 4 days ago)

My pregnancy was beautiful: Jennifer LopezJennifer Lopez talks about her role in What to Expect When You Are Expecting.

What is your character in the movie?
I play Holly, a photographer who is prepared to travel the globe to adopt a child, but my husband Alex isn’t so sure, and so tries to quiet his panic by attending a father’s support group. The film is a romantic comedy that reassures you by telling you five totally different stories about being pregnant, and making you laugh.

Which character in the movie did you most identify with in terms of your own pregnancy?
Brooklyn Decker’s character. My pregnancy was beautiful. I didn’t have morning sickness, I was athletic, I was on tour for six-and-a-half months. It was a beautiful time of my life and I felt good.

Is this movie directly based on the book by the same name?
No. The book tells you exactly what’s happening. It’s everybody’s common experience. But in the movie, it’s the complete opposite. It’s about how everybody's experience is completely different and how funny that can be.

Was there something that you didn’t know that you discovered while reading this book?
The book tells you exactly, week to week, what’s happening to you in the moment. I think women, by nature, when we’re pregnant, are so worried about everything. And here you have this book saying, this is supposed to be happening. Don’t worry. You’re supposed to feel like this. And that creates quite a calming effect actually.

Did you have any interesting moments on set?
The funniest thing on set was that our very English director kept telling us to stop hugging and kissing each other all the time. Being a Latino couple, we were being very affectionate towards each other and it was hilarious when he told us to be a little less affectionate.

When you were holding the baby in the film, he looks like he is so into you. Would you like to comment on that?

I fell in love with those babies, they were twins actually, but the one that was in the scene, I had a connection with. He was just so lovable and it really made me understand how you can take a baby home and make it a part of your family and raise it and love it like it is your own. He was a special little boy and the scene was my favourite part of the movie.

Do romantic comedies come naturally to you? At what point in your career did you release that this was second nature?

I think from very early in my career I have loved romantic comedies. I am a bit of a romantic and a little bit funny.

Jennifer Lopez Needs Judge's Permission To Take Her Kids On Tour

Posted in : Gossips

(added 4 days ago)

Jennifer Lopez has appealed to a California judge for permission to take her kids on tour with her when she hits the road with Enrique Iglesias.  Under the terms of the hitmaker's custody agreement with estranged husband Marc Anthony, Lopez must keep four-year-old son Max and daughter Emme within the confines of the state.

Jennifer Lopez Needs Judge's Permission To Take Her Kids On Tour

However, Lopez recently announced plans for a North American summer jaunt with Iglesias, and she has filed legal documents in a bid to obtain court approval to have her children join her on the trek.  A hearing has been set for June 26, according to TMZ.

Lopez and Iglesias are due to kick off their 13-date tour on July 14.  Anthony is also preparing to spend some time away from home - he's scheduled to begin a big tour with fellow Latin music stars Marco Antonio Solis and Chayanne in August.

Jennifer Lopez: Mommy Duty In Calabasas

Posted in : Gossips

(added 6 days ago)

Taking care of her parental responsibilities, Jennifer Lopez was spotted at a Mother’s Day event at her twins Max and Emme’s school in Calabasas, California. The “Waiting for Tonight” songstress looked cute and casual as she made her way through the parking lot and headed inside.

Jennifer Lopez: Mommy Duty In Calabasas

In related news, J. Lo was on the receiving end of some less-than-loving comments from Howard Stern during a press conference to announce his judging gig on “America’s Got Talent.”The shock jock declared that he wouldn’t have taken the gig if Jennifer or Britney Spears were on the panel. "No, I would not [have], because I think we have the best judging panel out there, out of all these shows. I think that the judges all offer constructive, precise criticism, and I really like it.” “To sit there with J.Lo and Britney Spears and try to prop those two up, I'd be like a ventriloquist with two dummies; I'm not going to sit there and do that."

Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Casper Smart seen arguing

Posted in : Gossips

(added 7 days ago)

It looks as though things aren't going as good as we thought for America Idol Judge Jennifer Lopez and her toy-boy beau Casper Smart.

Jennifer Lopez and boyfriend Casper Smart seen arguing

The couple were seen driving in a convertible ahead of J.Lo's appearance on the talent show, and onlookers said they saw the pair bickering. After an argument, Jennifer reportedly left Casper in the car without a goodbye kiss, while he did little to resolve the situation by glaring into his lap in silence.

However, Jennifer, 42, quickly put the argument behind her as she glammed up for her appearance on the American talent show that evening. Wearing a gorgeous sequin cocktail dress and her hair elegantly pinned back, the singer exuded Hollywood glamour.

Professional dancer Casper is seventeen years her juniour at just 25, but Jennifer has made no secret of the fact that she would love to have children with him. She admitted to People: 'It would be a blessing. [Kids] just bring so much joy and happiness to your life, [and] they just bring you right back down to earth.'

The pair began dating last November after Jennifer split with singer Marc Anthony, whom she was married to for seven years. Marc is also the Father of their twins, Max and Emme.

'American Idol' Recap: Jennifer Lopez Bows Down to Joshua Ledet

Posted in : Gossips

(added 8 days ago)

Weeks away from the American Idol finale, there are two heavyweight contenders who seem destined to face off for the crown: Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez, with both carrying off a set of jaw-dropping performances on Wednesday that received standing ovations from the judges' panel.

'American Idol' Recap: Jennifer Lopez Bows Down to Joshua Ledet

Meanwhile, Hollie Cavanagh fell flat on a Bonnie Raitt classic and Phillip Phillips coasted by on his "I'm a dreamy, sensitive singer-songwriter" credentials. For the first half of the show, the top four finalists performed songs from California-bred artists, and in the second, songs they wish they'd written. Leave it to Ledet, 19, to select an adult-contemporary inspirational hymn like Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Raise Up" -- a fitting choice for the church-reared Lousiana soul singer, who isn't afraid to get sentimental (but never sappy). It was a capable performance to follow Ledet's through-the-roof Bee Gees show-stopper last week, drawing the expected kudos from Randy Jackson and company.

"You're an amazing artist with a ginormous career ahead of you," quoth Jackson, sounding -- shock -- a bit like a broken record. But Ledet took things to another level entirely with James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," effortlessly pulling off a near-religious experience of a performance. The judges leaped to their feet for Ledet's 2,000th standing ovation of the season, and Jennifer Lopez bowed his direction, saying she "saw the lord."

Jackson praised the sweaty, passion-filled cover as one of the best of any singing show in history, while Steven Tyler bellowed: "I can go home right now! I've never heard anything like that in my life."Jessica Sanchez, The Other One To Beat, showcased her signature growl on Etta James' "Steal Away," successfully harnessing her angsty inner blues singer -- and managing to transform Idol's neon stage into an intimate music club. Indeed, she could growl the alphabet.

"That showed the other side of your voice. You're shaking off the old you and changing. That's a good thing," said Tyler, appearing more intense and alert than usual, perhaps taking cues from super-invested mentors Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on The Voice. Backstage, the 16-year-old Sanchez confessed: "Secretly, I'm 65 years old and I've been singing all my life."For her next go-round, Sanchez pulled off a Jennifer Hudson-quality rendition of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from Dreamgirls, oozing raw emotion and ending the song in tears. All three judges rose in Sanchez's honor as Lopez raved, "There's nothing to say."

As for Phillips, he kicked things off with Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain," looking grungier than ever in black jeans, a gray shirt and blue button-down. The low-key rocker-heartthrob didn't exactly bring the house down (seriously, this is the perfect song for the bringing down of the house), but the judges dug it anyway. Lopez viewed a "Joe Cocker quality" and Jackson said he began "a little rough" but pulled through in the final notes.

Philips next sang Damien Rice's "Volcano," a song about a guy letting a girl down easy. He used minimal lighting and some excellent backup singers for the moody, guitar-driven number, prompting three thumbs up from the judges. "You just sang like you really dug the way you sung," observed Tyler, while Lopez dubbed it "one of the most beautiful, poignant moments" in the show's history. Well, we wouldn't go that far. Sure, the effect was personal and authentic and all that, with Phillips projecting his usual frontman charisma, and yet ... our initial reaction was, "This is the song he wished he had written? This?!" What a plodding, blah, overrated snoozer.

Then there was Hollie Cavanagh, who capitalized on her late-game streak of Idol success with Journey's "Faithfully," making Lopez all weepy. (Fun fact: J-Lo and The Voice's Cee-Lo have both cried following reality-TV renditions of "Faithfully" this year. Steve Perry is having a moment.)

"It got me a little bit emotional seeing how far you've come," said the judge, who got on Cavanagh's case two weeks ago for not letting loose and feeling the music. "I saw how laid back you were, I saw a confidence about you. ... You were ready to share your gift with everybody. It was really very beautiful."Cavanagh, 18, told Ryan Seacrest that she had some off-camera coaching to channel the power ballad's meaning. The result: haunting and memorable, with traces of Carrie Underwood's stage presence; a vast improvement for Cavanagh, who's previously appeared nervous and timid on stage.

Everything went downhill for the aspiring Celine Dion, however, on Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," another staple karaoke song. Although mentor Jimmy Iovine cautioned her not to over-sing, she did exactly that without a hint of Raitt's warm, nuanced delivery. Overall, the judges felt her effort lacked conviction and fell short of what could have been an Idol-defining wow moment.

Also! There were duets: Ledet and Phillips paired up for Maroon 5's "This Love," and the judges practically lost their bleep (in a good way); Sanchez and Cavanagh, swinging while singing on stage, combined their mega-powerful voices for the Bangles' "Eternal Flame," and Jackson thought it was "weird." (Whatever, Randy Jackson. That song takes us back to all-school skates at the roller rink, so now we feel wistful and nostalgic and we can't think of anything mean to say.)

The remaining quartet also teamed up on Foreigner's "Waiting for a Girl Like You," which, coincidentally, also appears in the upcoming movie musical Rock of Ages, which, coincidentally, also stars Seacrest's girlfriend, Julianne Hough.

Hough sat in the audience with the film's director, Adam Shankman, while Idol showed a trailer of Rock of Ages, slated for release June 15. At one point, Seacrest pretended like he was going to propose to Hough, who didn't seem to be in on the joke and looked visibly worried at what he might say. (It's so Ryan to pop the question on camera, isn't it? Anyway, he led us on.)
