One finds the best celebrity blind items in the Home & Garden section of the New York Times. Joyce Wadler, who once helmed the newspaper's tepid Boldface Names gossip column, winkled out a delicious anecdote about one of luxury contractor John Finton's most demanding celebrity clients.

"There was, for instance, the female pop singer who requested an evening meeting during the time Mr. Finton’s mother was terminally ill with cancer, about six years ago. It was Mr. Finton’s birthday, and his mother had planned a special dinner. Mr. Finton explained this to the singer’s father, who acted as her on-site representative. A short time later, Mr. Finton got a call: The singer, he was told, would see him that evening. Mr. Finton complied."

Now, Finton—the "Indiana Jones" of luxury contractors has plenty of celebrity clients; and he doesn't name Connecticut-living Jennifer Lopez. But the new mother-of-two is the only pop diva listed as one of his clients on his website. If she's not the heartless client to whom Finton was referring, he should have realized that hers was the name that would come up with just a few minutes of web research.

Jennifer Lopez has children on her mind and not just her infant twins with husband Marc Anthony.

The 39-year-old singer/actress/entrepreneur is also thinking about the 93,000 sick and seriously injured children treated annually by Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and how she can help.

Lopez announced Wednesday that she'll host and help coordinate the third Noche de Ninos benefit gala. This year's star-studded party, to be held Oct. 11 at the Nokia Center, will feature performances by Lopez, Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and Latin rockers Juanes and Mana.

Lopez, who was Noche de Ninos' first honoree in 2004, said her twin son and daughter inspired her to get more involved.

"Doing something where I was proactive ... where I was the one pushing and making something happen, that just became very important to me," Lopez told The Associated Press. "I don't know if it was because I was pregnant and thinking about children, thinking about the world. Definitely my children inspire me very much in so many ways, even just in the past two and a half months of their little lives."

"They inspire me to want to be better, to be a better person, to do something for the world, to set an example for them, to make them proud of me and to know that there's a certain way that you should live," she said. "I've been very fortunate over the years, but I've also worked very hard, and that's the example I want to set for my children."

Lopez said she was looking for ways to contribute more to the charity.

New mom Jennifer Lopez will host the Noche de Niños benefit gala for the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.

Lopez told The Associated Press that her twins inspired her to get more involved with the charity.

"They inspire me to want to be better ... to do something for the world," Lopez said.

The event, scheduled for October, will feature performances by Lopez, husband Marc Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and Latin rockers Juanes and Mana.

London police are not issuing charges against Amy Winehouse over video footage that allegedly shows the singer taking drugs.

Police began investigating Winehouse after photos from the video were published in The Sun newspaper in January.

"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer," her spokesman said.

JENNIFER LOPEZ and MARC ANTHONY's baby twins are set to visit Europe this summer (08) with their proud parents.
Anthony has revealed his newborn children Max and Emme will join him and his wife when he tours Spain in June (08).
In a press conference with the Spanish media last week, the singer said that "family and (his) laptop" were the only things he couldn't live without during this tour, which begins on 21 June (08).
And Anthony insists he's more than justified in taking Lopez and their twins on the road with him: "When I perform in Spain... they will inspire me."
And he won't be making big demands backstage: "I just need toys for the kids."

“Sex and the City: The Movie” debuts in London Monday night. The cat will be out of the bag, so we’re free to let loose now at least somewhat on what happens in Michael Patrick King’s very well made, funny movie.

The last time we did this, the New York Daily News got frightened, bypassed their movie reviewer, and put a feature writer’s notes on the front page and passed it off as a review. Tsk, tsk. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again.

But I digress: People keep asking me if someone dies in this film. The answer is: No. No one’s even sick, for that matter. This is an urban myth. All the characters remain alive and breathing, ready for a sequel. Or a sequin.

Is there a happy ending? You’d better believe it. King and Warner Bros. are counting on at least two sequels. They will have them. This installment satisfies a lot of questions from the TV series but leaves the door open ajar.

Jennifer Lopez has been named celebrity mum of the year by New York’s Mingling Mums organisation.

Lopez gave birth to a beautiful set of twins recently and according to all reports, she and hubby Marc Anthony are loving being parents.

The organization decided that she deserved the award after finding out that Lopez and Anthony are planning on raising their twins, Max and Emme in their local neighborhood.

Also receiving an award at the ceremony was the mother of troubled popstar Lindsay Lohan, Dina.

Dina stated that all young starlets should “listen to their mother,” after collecting her award.

Jennifer Lopez has been named Celebrity Mom of the Year. The 'Monster-in-Law' star was given the honour by New York's Mingling Moms organization, after giving birth to twins Max and Emme - her first children with husband Marc Anthony - in February.

The organization decided to reward to 38-year-old Jennifer after it was revealed she had given birth at a hospital in Long Island, New York and is intending to raise the twins in the local neighborhood.

Lindsay Lohan's mom Dina, who will star alongside her other daughter Ali in a reality TV show to premiere on TV network E! this summer, was also honored at last night's 'Mom's Night Out' ceremony.

Upon accepting the award, Dina - who also works as Lindsay's manager - said she only had one piece of advice to help young starlets stay out of trouble.

She said: "Just to be honest and to stay morally correct. And listen to your mother."

Erica Logiudice, the president of Mingling Moms, said they had created the ceremony to recognize the people who inspired their children and helped them in their career.

She said: "We thought assembling such a list would be a great tribute to the women who were behind the scenes of these superstars' tremendous careers."

Other celebrity moms honored in the Long Island's Top 20 Celebrity Moms category included Alec Baldwin's mother Carol, Mariah Carey's mom Patricia Vian and Eddie Murphy's mother Lillian Robinson.

It wasn't easy leaving little Max and Emme to attend Monday's Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala in NYC.

"They're missing us!" Marc Anthony told sources of their newborn babies.

The twins are "fantastic!" added a glowing Jennifer Lopez.

Lopez who showed off her post-baby bod in a one-shoulder Alberta Ferretti frock hobnobbed with pals Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and David and Victoria Beckham at the bash. (She even gave Posh Spice a big hug!)

Lopez and Anthony welcomed their babies February 22 in New York's Long Island.

She has said she's unsure whether she’ll be a working mom.

"I don't know and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years," she told Harper's Bazaar.

She's signed on for the movie Love and Other Possible Pursuits, which begins shooting later this year.

Jennifer Lopez is in talks with the TLC cable channel to create a new series. Lopez's manager, Simon Fields, says, contrary to some reports, the shows will not feature her children and family life.  "It's a show that will track the creation, production and eventual launch of a new fragrance,"  he says. The series is expected to air later this year.
