Though Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have parted ways since they officially announced their separation in July, the two are set to launch separate affordable fashion collections at Khol's on September 7. Called the Jennifer Lopez Collection and the Marc Anthony Collection, the lines will include sportswear, accessories and sleepwear for men and women.
In addition to her fashion line, there is also the Jennifer Lopez Home Collection, which consists of bedding, towels and luggage. Bedding items, which are 600 thread count sheets made from 100 percent Egyptian cotton, will range from $149 to $199. Earlier this month, Lopez used items from her Khol's collection to style eight "real" women for a photo spread featured in O, The Oprah Magazine.
This is not the actress' first foray into fashion. Lopez initially launched a clothing line called JLO by Jennifer Lopez in 2003 and retired the line in 2007. In 2005 she launched another clothing line called Sweetface and later launched a juniors' line called JustSweet.
However, she told O Magazine the past efforts "weren't exactly what I wanted them to be.""I'm really a fan of glamour and old Hollywood and movie stars so I wanted to bring all of those elements of my style into this first collection for Kohl's," Lopez said in a promotional video for the line, which can be seen below.
"I definitely have an appreciation for old school glamour ala Rat Pack and 'Oceans 11'," Anthony said about his fashion outlook for his clothing line.
The former couple's recent split reportedly had nothing to do with the collections marketed as separate entities. "The Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony brands have always been positioned as two separate, distinctive collections that offer high-quality contemporary style for men and women, and we look forward to a successful September launch," a spokesperson for Kohl's told Women's Wear Daily in a statement in July, shortly after the couple announced their separation.
"We have two separate agreements with Jennifer and Marc and always intended to have separate lines. [Their split] doesn't impact the agreements in any way," Rick Darling, president of LF USA - a company sublicensing the brands to Kohl's - told the site.
The two collections were not the only projects Lopez and Anthony were working on before they split. The two will reportedly continue to work together on their upcoming reality talent competition series "Q'viva!: The Chosen."The series will feature Lopez and Anthony searching for talent in 21 countries Latin America and is still slated to be filmed later this year.
